How is the 2nd weekend looking for Barbenheimer? I imagine pretty solid holds if the few sessions I’ve seen are anything to go by.

I'm wondering this too.

If school is in session, then I expect the weekend to be strong!

Opp Imax Melbourne has sold out vast majority of shows through 27-Aug

They have now sold out vast majority thru 10-Sept and will announce more dates shortly, their booking site is at times so busy there is a queuing system for access (like booking a concert) i've been told at times as long as 20mins

I think comScore includes, numero don't. Need to check.

Edit: seems like neither doesn't. The ones that does are may be midnights. Like this.
https://numero.co/reports/2021/12/20/spider-man-no-way-home-3rd-highest-opening-of-all-time-in-australia

As you know Intl reporting always includes previews in OWe no matter what the local territories report, Midnights are included in weekend, always have been but its been years since they were anything significant and rare even occurs any other previews are not included. Also a week record is rolling 7 days , so for example AEG that opened on a Wed, its record week  Wed-Tue, not Thu-Wed. The MPDAA governs reporting rules. Numero is currently the official  SRG reporter and they provide to comScore , media etc

Don't be surprised to see sub 20% on both

WHAT. DO. YOU. MEAN?!

How does a $20m opener only drop 20% in its 2nd WE?!

Ok, so we’re looking at a $40m+ cume for Barbie after just 11 days. Look out all-time list. No one is safe.

The Barbie numbers are nuts. In Australia it made $47k per screen in week one, which seems to be the all-time record by a pink mile. Endgame and Force Awakens earned $21k per screen,  Avatar $18k, No Way Home $16k.

That average is wild. Surely other big openers have come close? It just seems too far above the others to be real

IDK what these numbers are but Endgame weekend PSA was A$30,680 while Barbie was A$25,474.

PTA was A$67,670 for Barbie. Endgame would be A$100K+.

I guess Sophia talk about PSA (Per Screen Average) vs what you have mentioned is PTA (Per Theater Average).

A single Theater might have 2 or more screens.

Didn't you earlier mentioned that it's based on Gross/ATP (Average Ticket Price). Would be amazing if those admission numbers are reported in open source

Yeah many just estimate based on ATP but there are actual admits available.
