Until we get closer to the release date and the marketing and the buzz gets amped up, I'd say 115OW is more likely. If the film exceeds the first critically and especially visually, that's when I can see the x6 multipliers But Brand name alone will be hard to get everyone in the theatre, the film has to deliver. If Cameron makes a fantastic film, then Fox HAS to screen it way in advance and have reviews coming out like a month before release. It's what helped Avengers reach 200M OW. If Fox plays this right, 130OW isn't completely out of the question

Predicting everyone will keep Avatar 2 in their 3D theaters for 4-5 mths , especially if surpasses the original on the scale of T2 over T1  good buddy.. And Im predicting 155M OW..  BAsed on the snow storm not happening this time lol and 840M domestic.

Hoping and praying we can go beyond 900M though. I would love the film to break my predicts!!

Avatar was so long in 3D theaters because there were no 3D movies til March, Avatar 2 won't have the luxury. Will be in 3D theaters but will lose them. NO WAY it pulls a T2. Where are those 900M predicts?

What are you talking about? The thing is you mix up screen count and theater counts, there is a difference.

How much TCs did Avengers get.. Sure more TCs= more screens :). Thats what I mean

I remember Avengers getting a max of 4500TCS or something like that.

Avatar started with 2700TCs and expanded to 3000+TCs.. Thats a low theater count for such massive domestic numbers Neo.

No fim can increase like that, but it could increase by 100-200+ over 750M.. Just needs a good OW and a typical Cameron Multiplier. :)

Rem his last 2 films have absurd Multis and thats what Im feeling for the sequel

Titanic 20x!!, Avatar 1 9.8X!!

I wasn't even talking about tc of Avengers or Avatar. TC=SC which you have, this is what I am saying, nothing more.

PS from what I heard, Avatar 2 will be in 3D theaters a long time in North America..They are already working out something with chains..

So dont bet on that one. Cameron and Fox have the power!!

Okay seriously, for you doubters, who said the first one was going to gross 700M+?

Gokai was one of those haters. What morons they were to think all those Titanic, Aliens, Abyss, T2 fans wouldnt be following Cameron to an epic hes worked on for 4-5 yrs lol..  I mean people are killing themselves from the experience they had with Avatar.

Just read on the depression when they realization came to some fans unfortunately that they cant go back to Pandora.

Now thats an experience. .THE Bigger FB pages have 40-50m fans Augustus and so many say they will see Avatar 3-20 times.

The run is going to be interesting :)

Do a google search you will see some fans saying 900m to 1billion domestic is possible :).. FOlks said the same like you Gokai for my highend predicts for Avatar I and it was instead up your ass.

LOL

Typed in this: avatar 2 900M predictions and got nothing.

Must have missed that? Do you have a link for that, because hard to believe it will retain as many theaters as Avatar did.

So why say it can?

Never said that, I said theres always a chance that part 2 super performs and beats out Avatar I in everyway. :)

Never said it wll make 10 times Avatar 1... Lol Terminator  made only 30-40M WW, T2 made 500M..

So no one besides a cuckoo for cocoa puffs Cameron fan would expect that kind of increase.

Avatar I bottomline is showing but a percentage of how many fans can show up for a movie.

I definitely think a film can do what Titanic did at todays ticket prices or close to it domestically... All it takes is for Cameron to surpass Avatar and take us even further beyond the real world in all new immersive experience.

As Cameron has said, hes only beginning to experiement to what can be done with 3D.

I cant wait to see what he's been hiding  my friend. :)
