Thursday Numbers | Not the Weekend Thread

Recommended Posts

That was quite a nosedive, but it was expected. I think Cap 2 might actually miss the $250M mark, but hopefully not.

Not at all. It'll make another $8-9m this weekend bumping it up against & over $140m by this time next week.

It's got $250m locked. Back off the panic button over the first daily that isn't a $1m.

Hopefully it bounces back over the weekend.

BoxOffice ‏@BoxOffice · 42s CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE WINTER SOLDIER took in $0.851M on Thursday. Domestic total now stands at $229.38M. #CaptainAmerica2

Uugh... I was wrong about thinking the hit won't be too severe.

Transcendence fell 26%

As I was leaving Spidey last night, they were taking down the letters for Transcendence.  Yep, it's gonzo already.

I guess families moved to TASM 2. Rio was hit the worst. Down 61% from last Thursday.

I can't tell you how many kids in red spidey t-shirts were running around the theater last night. Definitely a family film especially for little boys.

That many huh? Well that looks to be a good sign TASM for today and tomorrow. Still hoping for a good recovery by Cap.

It's inevitable that Cap will be one of the hardest to be hit by Spidey's arrival. Spidey is Cap's first direct competition.I hope for good recovery today, but I say that a 50%+ drop is expected and not at all a bad indication or anything. It should bounce back during next week.
