Maze Runner: Scorch Trials, which opened here last week, will most likely enter this top 20 at some point during October. It might go as high as position 15, but I am betting on either position 18 or 17. Mission Impossible might go up a place as well but I doubt it (either way it has already beaten Ghost Protocol, so it is a huge result). Furious 7 has double the result of Fast & Furious 6 and Minions has done 3 times more than Despicable Me 2 (and it is still in theaters). Minions also became the 2nd biggest movie ever (Furious 7 is 4th, Mamma Mia is 3rd, do I really need to say what is first  ? )

Last year the number 1 movie (Penguins of Madagascar) sold just 360.000 tickets (movies number 2 (Hobbit) and 3 (The Hunger Games) sold around 355.000 tickets each), so as you can see, 2015 has been a beast compared to 2014 over here.

I am just posting this here for the American people to realize OS works very different from country to country.

Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials' domestic performance is piss-poor and kinda makes Insurgent looks better in retrospect.

Maze Runner is much smaller scale, and is financially a bigger hit for the studio. Still, quite disappointing in retrospect. However, if the first hasn't been such a leggy hit last year, people wouldn't have expected too much this time around.

Insurgent had double the budget, to be fair. Plus OS is much stronger, so overall it won't be as bad as it seems. At the end of the day, Fox will make more money from MR2 than Lions makes from Insurgent.
