Charlie's first onscreen role was in the tv series Judge John Deed (2002). he played in various smaller films throughout most of the early and mid 2000s, and it wasn't until he played the lead Tristen in the fantasy romance film Stardust (2007), that he gained the attention of mainstream audiences, while the film was not a box office success per se, it did gain favorable reviews from critics and fans alike and gained something of a cult following, since then he starred in two seasons of Boardwalk Empire (2011-2012), an Episode of Downton Abbey (2010), and in 2010 he played supporting role in the best picture nominated film The Theory of Everything. however it wasn't until 2015. when he was cast to played the Superhero Daredevil, in marvel's first deal with Netflix in what would become a sting of small-screen based interconnected series, much like the MCU. when the show premiered it was met with rave reviews, being praised for it's grittier darker tone then the MCU, tight storytelling, performances and fight choreography, some critics even going as far to save it was the Best superhero adaptation ever to be put to the screen. and like that Charlie Cox or least his persona of daredevil become a household almost overnight, (and probably nearly the sole reason he went from unranked in 2014, to the top 40 in 2016) the show was renewed for a second season in 2016, also gainer favorable ratings, there is still no confirmation of a third season, but Charlie is gearing up to shoot the Crossover series The Defenders later this year, which will air sometime in 2017. and who knows maybe even an infinity wars cameo?
