Problem was the marketing was not good ..at least in the US. The trailers made it look incredibly generic...like they were hitting every fantasy cliche in the book.

So it might be another good movie that got ruined by bad marketing.

I don't think its fair to blame it on the fox marketing team. It is a extremely difficult sell because the subject is inherently something that American audiences actively are not interested in.

When was the last time a film set in an English school set the US box office alight? It's done what 15M and that's more than I thought it would do.
