I'm seeing this pop up at multiple AMCs including my local one. I wonder why Disney is rereleasing it.

Maybe to start the early campaign for the remake in 2019.

Another re-release seems a bit peculiar, since the 2011 one was already so successful and they didn't do this for any of the other animated classics ahead of their live action releases. Would be cool if they eventually re-released it enough to get it past Snow White adjusted for inflation, though it still trails by nearly 200m.

It must be an AMC thing.

That being said, the 2011 re-release had by far the best performance during the brief period of 3D re-releases, so perhaps there's something there. It was one of the movies of my childhood and I haven't seen it theatrically since 1994 (had too much going on and too many other movies to see during my free time in 2011), so I'd jump at seeing it on the big screen again if it went nationwide.

Taking out your anger on the humble pockets of Taika Waititi.

I expected more from you, Blanks.

But if this movie funds Ron Shitward, wouldn't all Disney films fund Poop Howard? Gotta think about how salaries work bud

But think of the back-end deals! You're taking away the education of Taika's kids, you monster.

Until there is an actual press release by Disney or something, this thread will be locked. Sometimes theaters in a given area re-release movies for summer vacation etc. So until there is some actual concrete info, this thread will be sent to hibernation.
