Not surprising at all IMO. Humongous opening driven by nostalgia, fanboys, and pent-up demand. But it got mediocre reviews and didn't drive repeat business. It just performed more like an average videogame movie than an average family film (hold-wise anyhow, obviously it made far more money than an average videogame movie).

Aside from the massive second weekend drop it held relatively decent.

 

But I still think the third weekend drop was far too harsh given all factors.
