What do we think is a good time to open an Advance Schedule thread? After actuals finish, or after the Oscars? After totals?

After Actuals seems good. I’m pretty sure that’s what we did last time.

@cookie I’m gonna have to relinquish Oscar hosting duties to you. It’s getting worse and worse to try and find time right now to work on reading other people’s films with all the other stuff I’ve got going on right now. I was not expecting Part 2 to go as fast as it did.

You know if you don’t want to do both Oscars and Actuals Y4, I can one of them of your hands.

I’ll think about it. I shouldn’t be nearly as jam-packed with work during the summer as I am now.

No worries, I’ll do you good :sparta:

One question to the previous hosts before I start planning:

Do I as a host still get to vote or do I have to excuse myself? I’m honestly a bit confused about that.

You can still vote. Just try not to rig it in your film’s favor. :P

In the Oscars? Can you vote?

Yes, I voted. I voted before everybody else did though.

I already have my ballot drafted so it's all good.

@Rorschach So I watched The Asylum's Troy: The Odyssey.

I highly recommend it, it's fucking hilarious. The entire Odyssey condensed into 90 nonsensical minutes, several characters merged together in utterly bizarre ways, a budget of maybe $100, and they've tossed in the Labyrinth and the Kraken for good measure because why not? Also Odysseus is literally played by a gay porn star and the whole thing is (very obviously) filmed in Thailand, of all places.

Plot summary from IMDb:

In this re-telling of Iliad, set in 1174 B.C. after ten years of fighting in the Trojan War, the Greek warrior Odysseus decides to travel for home, but instead finds a string of mis-adventures over the sea and land as he, along with a captive Trojan warrior named Circe as well as a group of loyal Greek soldiers, venture on the sea and land to get home to the island kingdom of Icarus and fighting sea sirens, and other mystical creatures to get home to his wife Penelope who is being hounded by a group of suitors hoping she will chose to make one of them their bride.

:kitschjob:

The Icarus bit is wrong, they do actually get the name Ithaca right.

But yeah in this movie Circe is a Trojan priestess/warrior lady who Odysseus takes prisoner, because the curse he's been given wasn't from Poseidon, or the gods at all, but from the king of Troy. Who cursed him to be followed for eternity by... the Kraken. Which cannot kill a Trojan, so they use Circe for safety. The actual Circe more or less shows up later with the whole immortal romance island deal, except they call her Calypso. And also she stages gladiator battles. In her Thai temple courtyard.
