It's a film that will bring in older adults that watched the first film growing up who aren't gonna rush out to the theater to see it. Families who want to see it will also check it out obviously and again, that's not a crowd that really rushes out on OW tl;dr: the two big demographics this film targets (families and people over the age of 40) aren't OW type of audiences Edited November 13, 2018 by Blankments

Like it would need to be really good to withstand that kind of heat.
cookie
I mean I could always put Scandi in February instead but that means I’d have to go hunting for a new ME3 date. Edited November 13, 2018 by cookie

I have confidence this will be one of my better if not the best blockbuster I put out this year (CoE not counting as a blockbuster). Moreover, I think the live-action/animated world gives it an obvious stand-out among the other films. I also really only see OPM, SF, and Scandi as actual threats in the month, but besides StarFox, none of them are direct competition imo
cookie
Looking at July from a demographics standpoint: OPM, Ultraman 2, Scandi and Dragon Ball are all going for the general blockbuster action crowd Insectoids, Valkyries (I assume), Star Fox and CyberChase are all family-based Ripper 2 is purely aimed at adults so it has no direct competition At least one from each of the former two categories would have to move if you want it to be less cluttered. SLAM!
If it's any consellation, Wii Sports probably won't make much unless it's a break out like Wonder was in 2017. Even if I don't move it, it probably won't get in the way of the other July films.
Xillix
Ultraman 2 isn't something I'm especially excited about. Frankly neither is Insectoids. They're on there because it's been too long since the first one and I need more family films in general, respectively. They're pretty low on my priority list of shit to actually write so if any of my movies don't get done they're likely candidates. Also I feel like One Punch Man could REALLY easily slip into Epic Movie/Meet the Spartans esque territory if it's not very carefully handled, so...

Xillix
Just saying with the number of cameos you're cramming in there, it runs the risk of being an exhausting distraction that runs the joke into the ground. Not saying it can't be pulled off, just something to be careful of. Also, I find it pretty interesting that @Rorschach and @Spagspiria are placing so much at stake for the year I'm doing actuals...

You can ignore that original list I had in the Y4 thread. I'm cutting down on that significantly. There are gonna be cameos in there but it'll mostly be for characters that have a decent amount of screen time and speaking lines that aren't just quick cameos.
