fmpro
Terrible drop for Battleship. And it will drop big again next weekend... Terrible drop for Battleship. And it will drop big again next weekend...+60% again??
Heretic
Probably 70%. :lol:And, I was looking at previous big openers...BD1 made £13.9m. The Avengers is going to have a HUGE number of showings + 3D and IMAX and pre-sales are indicating it's going to have a massive number of sell-outs over the 4 day weekend. It could open in that sort of range I think.. which would be over $21m. Edited April 23, 2012 by Heretic
The Dark Alfred
Also don't forget that it's out on Thursday, so AA is having a 4-day OW.

fmpro
$50m for The Avengers in the UK?That would be stunning if it reaches that
Heretic
Well, if it opens to $20m+, then $50m would likely be reached. Maybe even $60m.
SchumacherFTW
Haven't you guys forgotten that Battleship's big drop could also be down to it being a 3 day weekend as opposed to the opening 5 day? Also, £11m is where I expect the Avengers to be by Sunday, can't wait to see it on Saturday. SchumacherFTW
Pretty good hold for Cabin in the Woods actually, thats around 35/40%?
Heretic
THG could reach near £24m, which is $38.7m. Fantastic for the series opener. Catching Fire will likely do in excess of $60m.
Heretic
I'd consider anything above £10m excellent for The Avengers, but it's hard to pin-point where exactly it'll fall, so I'll say £12.5m ($20.2m).
