Heretic
Or maybe the fact its having a more limited run and it wasn't advertised much.
The Toymaker
It wasn't advertised as much in the 2nd week as in the 1st week??But, all films are like that. It's had a 50% drop because the WOM wasn't good. That's it.
Heretic
And anyway, it had a 5 day opening. It's 3 day drop would have been around or even under 40%.
SchumacherFTW
I mentioned TE2 because it's known to people on here that it disappointed in the UK. I don't follow other films, so that's the only recent one I know of. Perks dropped even more. So it's interesting. Any anyway, I'll talk about whatever film I think best describes my point. Comparing a Blockbuster released in August to a Teen(ish) film released in October IS pointless. With more films being released per week that aren't making mega grosses the pressure is automatically on to make bank immediately. Unfortunately Perks didn't hence why in the majority of places show times are reduced or cut completely unlike TE2 where there was nothing big released the week after and it likely still had enough screens to cater to demand. The Dark Alfred
Both TE2 and Perks are flops. Can we move on? I do hope that PA4 will disappoint, I'm sick and tired of this comedy franchise. It's certainly not horror, PA3 was the most boring film I have ever seen. I'd like Sinister to give it a hard time.

But with that wednesday launch it's guarenteed to be a hit.
Jonwo
I think PA4 may drop from PA3 but its low budget means it'll be a hit regardless.
Heretic
PA4 has a 5 day opening compared to 3-day for PA3. I'd be surprised if it didn't at least match it.
StephenN18
According to Odeon cinemas, this is the top ten: UK TOP 10 [*]Taken 2 [*]Madagascar 3: Europe's Most Wanted 2D [*]Hotel Transylvania 2D [*]Looper [*]Sinister [*]The Perks Of Being A Wallflower [*]Ruby Sparks [*]ParaNorman [*]On The Road [*]The Campaign Edited October 15, 2012 by StephenN18
Jonwo
Madagascar 3 isn't officially released until Friday so the previews won't be counted until then. The Scotland release will be counted where did £1m.

Jonwo
Less talk about flops, more talk about hits!Beasts of the Southern Wild should do well this weekend after great reviews.I think that has a limited run so hard to predict where it'll land but a top ten position would be great. Both Ruby Sparks and On the Road did okay business, wonder if Untouchable managed to crack £1m despite the loss of cinemas.

Heretic
When do people think bond will start selling out normal cinemas? It's extremely close to selling out Leiecester Square opening night, which is astounding.Cinemas around me have basically sold out IMAX, and OD shows in the evening are quite full...I imagine some will sell out later this week and early next week, and by Thursday, the whole OD will probably be nearly sold out. SchumacherFTW
I think by Friday the 20:30 show in Eastbourne will be sold out, basically keeping pace with QoS and the last two Potter films. I'm kind of annoyed I can't see it OD.
Jonwo
The Evening performances should sell out easily but I imagine it'll have a lot of walk in business. I imagine it'll probably up to 5-7 screens in the bigger multiplexes but those times won't be released until next week.
SchumacherFTW
My local Odeon has only confirmed one extra evening show so far to compliment a single screen. The eastbourne Cineworld only has one screen booking at the moment. Maybe extra screens will start booking when they begin to update today and tomorrow.
Heretic
This will probably have even more shows than TDKR did.

SchumacherFTW
I think it COULD hit the magic 4 screen barrier at my local. On opening night at least. Harry Potter DH2 managed to take 5 screens on opening night, and sold them all out! Obviously Skyfall won't hit that many, but it was still crazy.
