Elessar
I'm hearing there's a cold wave in Russia, down to -30 degree and it should get even worse. Don't think that's beneficial to theater attendance. Luck is not on Hobbit's side.... Edited December 19, 2012 by Elessar

Fullbuster
Given The Hobbit had some troubles in many OS markets and the very low temperatures in Russia I have to change my predictions :$20m OW (I expected $27m)$55m totalI hope it's pessimistic, I want better than that. Fullbuster
Will we have OD numbers for The Hobbit? Given it has been released a wednesday I have to ask...
juni78ukr
Too early to say much but looks like Hobbit is doing below expectations. At least I mean expectations here. A friend of mine dropped $2.6m as an early estimate for Wednesday gross.Kinometro predicted $16.3m for the weekend on 2150 screens. At least that's a new record. Olive
so 50m is out of reach?
juni78ukr
Well, 5 years ago a local hit Irony of Fate 2 was released exactly on this weekend and managed 5 multiplyer. I am not saying this is gonna happen now. But at least 3.5 should be doable. And the weather is really harsh with snowstorms and transport collapses in some cities. juni78ukr
The real problem is that it might drop today because of the fanboy rush. IMAX sales are strong. The others not so much...
juni78ukr
Next week 3 local films will be released on 1500, 1300 and 1000 screens. Plus Cirque de Soleil (800 screens) and danish animated movie Marco Macaco (500 screens). And they all will take screens and shows from Hobbit. Fullbuster
Well your predictions seemed kind of a longshotMy predictions didn't forecast snowstorms or -30°C outside.Without that the all-time record would be broken $50m is still perfectly possible, becoming the most successful movie of the year!
