Oz: The Great and Powerful clung on to the #1 spot on the Russian charts for the second week in a row, which is good news for Disney and bad news for DreamWorks' caveman comedy The Croods, which debuted in Russia a week before its U.S. launch. The animation studio managed only a $2,287 per-screen average in its first frame, which might not bode well for The Croods' pull at home and internationally. Still, a $3.6 million opening weekend isn't awful -- it's just got to feel disappointing.

This guy havent got a clue. 66% drop good for Disney? And The Croods only had Saturday and Sunday previews...

Fox is always crazy with screen count. They are putting their movies everywhere.

As a side note Russian Rouble dropped a bit in past several weeks. So in USD grosses a bit lower than before.

Yeah, but The Croods' potential isn't that high o_o'

I hope Iron Man 3 will have many screens too.

The Croods got only $3.6m OW in Russia? That's terrible: Mad3 with European soccer championship got $16m, the last non-sequel DWs RotG $6.2m and Megamind $7m.

Madagascar is a well-established franchise in Russia, it's quite an unfair comparison!

Russia behind South Korea?????

UK ahead of France??? So the UK is the biggest European market now!

Japan is still impressive :)

Russia will pass South Korea and Germany soon enough, it's unavoidable and could become the main European market in 10 years.

South Korea has the more successful local movies.

Asterix alone could have won for France.
