The TP for Avatar actually seems quite low with 11,65€. I would have thought it'd land above 13€ with how expensive Tickets are at my theatre.

Yeah 16€ during the weekend (though the Cinestar card helps a lot). Insane.

The good news this weekend were the good hold for Ticket to Paradise, and the fact that all releases on the chart were>10k admissions. Good opening for local drama Mittagsstunde which managed a fine PTA! However, with weather being very movie-friendly atm, the overall numbers are still disappointing, no blockbuster in sight. In Austria, similar results but most releases a bit higher (Ticket to Paradise is already well past 60k here).

Next weekend: Finally some bigger openers again: A new horror release with Smile, domestic journalism drama Tausend Zeilen, and a new #1 with the Die Schule der magischen Tiere 2 - a domestic children's book adaption; the first one did really well and a result between 1,5 and 2mil total seems realistic.

Can Minions 2 reach 4m admits in Germany?

And if so, its multiplier would be almost x9 from OW correct? Better than Minions 1's x6 multi.

Would be interested in the top 10 multis for animated films in Germany..

In Austria, Minions could reach 550k total from a 56k OW (but OW in Austria is 3day, compared to Germany's 4day)

Early weekend estimates from insidekino.de, and there's a good weekend coming it seems; good openers AND good holds!

#1: Schule der magischen Tiere 2 - 250-400k admissions (opening higher than #1 which was to be expected)

#2: Ticket to Paradise - 150k (+4%, super)

#3: Smile - 110k incl previews (might still be 6-digit for Thu-Sun)

#4: Avatar - 85k (-24%)

#5: Tausend Zeilen - 80k, a bit disappointing but I didn't see much potential for this journalism drama; the real life story behind it wasn't that big or popular - as a comparison, the movie Schtonk made it to >2mil total in 1992 but that was about the infamous forged "Hitler diaries", an extremely popular scandal in its time.

Thursday

#1 Schule der magischen Tiere 2 22k [€160k]

#2 Ticket to paradise 16k (-9%) [€145k]

#3 Smile 10,5k [€90k]

#4 Avatar RR 8,5k (-43%) [€95k]

#5 Don't worry darling 8k (-38%) [€70k]

#6 Tausend Zeilen 8k [€70k]

Schule der magischen Tiere 1 opened with 50k but that seems to have been during the holidays so they're not really comparable (as that one only had a x5 multipler for around 250k WE). With a holiday on Monday this WE should (as seen with the 1st Trend) have some nice internal multiplers.

2nd Trend

#1 Schule der magischen Tiere 2 300-450k

#2 Ticket to Paradise 140k (-3%) 630k

#3 Smile 110k i.P

#4 Avatar RR 90k (-20%) 235k

#5 Tausend Zeilen 60k

#6 Don't worry darling 60k (-14%) 155k

#7 Minions 40k (-29%) ~3,92M

So Avatar should stay at around 11,54M total admissions after this WE...

Final weekend estimates from insidekino.de now have 360-425k for SdmT2, that's an excellent number, a big increase from the first one. While increases like this are quite common for popular teenie "franchises", this one's aimed at younger children, meaning 95% of the tickets are bought by the parents, which usually leads to a much lower rush factor. 2mil total are a real possibility after such an opening.

Also in final estimtes: Avatar around 100k so we might get 4 releases >100k (I think Smile's previews were <10k?).

That's an awesome drop for the re-release (down maybe just a bit above 10%). Would be great if there was the possibility for this to be prolonged.

Apparently its looking to come in on the high end with 425k - probably even 450k (which would be really great).

No previews so 450k 4-day weekend.

Probably 100k tomorrow (should be significantly more)?
