What an awful PTA for a Woody Allen movie … at least, Chantal im Märchenland had already a lot of admissions from the first two weekends, so definitely a success! In Austria, similar numbers, but with KFP4 in #3 instead of BtB. KFP4 has crossed 200k admissions by now but the Golden Ticket is out of reach. Next weekend: insidekino.de already has estimates; Chantal safe in #1 with about 200k; #2/3 is close between Back to Black and opener Civil War. I haven't yet got Austria's actuals but the weekend should have played out in a very similar way since weather conditions were the same. At least Dune 2 has now reached official blockbuster status; first 2024 release to do so - congratulations! In Austria, the same depressing numbers with Challengers opening a bit higher. Next weekend: Weather is predicted to be rainier than last weekend, so the yo-yo game might continue with family releases increasing and good holds elsewhere. There's one big opener, The Fall Guy, which got good reviews in Austria and seems like a fun summer movie - hopefully a new #1 though presales look not so good.
