Good overall weekend; The Bad Boys even on #2 - with this and two more family openers on #7 and #8, family holdovers had steep drops. The Batman crossed 1mil without any problems (though 2mil ist probably out of reach with this drop). And the best PTA went to turkish biopic Bergen, wow!

Austria's weekend was very similar.

Next weekend: Actioner Ambulance and domestic comedy JGA are the wide openers, #1 seems out of reach for both of them.

@Shanks  @IndustriousAngel Do you know if SM:NWH had crossed 600k admits (platinum tickets) in Austria?

not yet as far as I know - Austrian tracking is usually 2 weeks behind but it should be around 585-590k; last weekend was only about 2k admissions so it will be a slow crawl if it manages the 600k - fantastic number anyway, much higher than Germany!

What are we expecting for FB3?

I agree with @IndustriousAngel that 3M admissions is probably the right target for FB3. A decrease is to be expected because of the bad WOM from Crimes of Grindelwald, but Germans love fantasy series and they love Harry Potter especially, so even if the movie isnt all that great, it should do relatively well.

@Issac Newton

Kaisen Movie 0 has now added playtimes at my theater; presales are not as good as in Germany but good (Germany seems to have quite a lot off sellout situations ...)

Thank u veryyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy muchhhhhhhh.

Then, Target in Germany is 3,222,452 admits (I know it's not happening).

Based on Pre-sales, how do you think Jujutsu Kaisen Movie 0 will perform in Germany? Can it dethrone Demon Slayer Mugen Train (59K admits) on Opening Day 🤩

That much of a drop even though Crimes increased on FB1?

Well Crimes did 3.9, would be 3.5-3.6. The Hogwarts Legacy impact will be zero and the momentum was kind of bigger in 2018 with the exhibition in east Germany that was worth humdred thousands of visitors. I mean the stage play finally began in Hamburg last December so the franchise is pretty frequent in people's minds but whenever the general public mentions Wizarding World stuff it's almost always the original franchise.

The biggest factor is the opening here. FB 1 did 900k admits incl. previews and FB 3 did 1.1M. Even if it makes 1M again the multiplier will be lower as stated above. And if we have a very sunny easter like we do every 2 years the chances for a multiplier as big as the last 2 movies arr very low.

So normally, if Germans are all aboard the hype train (=1M) it won't make that much in the end, maybe 3.2-3.5. As i don't see the theaters filling up as fast as Crimes did (so far) i think SoD can be lucky to achieve 3M admits with a 800-900k opening. But if you go for current hype i see 700k opening, 800k with previews and 2.5M total

pretty low weekend estimates from insidekino.de ; obviously the warm spring weather is driving people outdoors

#1: The Batman - 120k (-41%)

#2: Uncharted - 60k (-38%)

#3: The Bad Boys - 50k (-58%, family films get hit even harder)

Ambulance will be the biggest opener but with <50k, that's worse than expected ...
