BO Germany/Austria: Inside Out 2 #1 with best 2024 OW

Recommended Posts

I doubt 6mil:- It opened lower than IA4 despite having a kind of 5-day-weekend (Holiday on October 3rd)- The IA-films tend to have better multipliers than MAD.

Possibly, but it's legs were better than expected pretty much everywhere because it's supposedly a good film. I wouldn't discount the possibility of a quality film drawing more people in.

insidekino thinks differently: "Mögliches Endergebnis in Tsd. 5000" = "Possible final total 5m"

They tend to be conservative with their final totals. Edited by lab276

Long weekend here (German Holiday on October 3rd), some very good holds - "Hope Springs" even with an increase after a slight expansion.

This weekend, Taken 2 ("96 Hours 2"), german comedy "Mann tut was Mann kann" and "Savages" are the biggest openers. Taken2 should take place 2 as the name suggests, Savages should end up in the Top 10. It's a safe bet Madagascar3 will rule the weekend again.

No offence Germany, but what is with you guys going ape shit for the crap animated franchises?

Can't answer that one, apart from the fact that taking your children to the movies (or putting them there while you do some serious shopping or whatever) is still the major income for movie theaters. As witnessed by the low number of tickets sold per capita, Germany still doesn't believe films are a fitting evening entertainment for adults. Same goes for comic strips (or graphic novels). So, to conclude: Maybe the Germans don't go ape-shit for kiddie films, maybe it's just they care even less about adult fare.In Austria and german-speaking Switzerland, numbers are a bit better, but cinema as a whole is far from the popularity it enjoys in France.
