That doesn't necessarily reflects the true popularity of the franchise, Rogue One proved it wasn't automatic. RO was a "SW's story" but wasn't the same. Fullbuster
I wonder....with 185 million admissions in 2016, can Brazil reach 200 million in 2017? I hope so, that would be a great threshold and would put it at the same level than France and South Korea.

China is now able to be tied with the US in the Olympic Games, this country is improving so fast, they want to be on top of everything. Don't underestimate them, I can assure they'll be among the top football nations within 5-10 years. Remember that.

Did you see how fast they've been able to compete with the US during the Olympics since 2008? Sometimes beating them for gold medals. Sometimes beating them for gold medals. Sure. And they will probably win the 2020s or 2024s Games (USA will probably win in Los Angeles 2028). But individual sports are which give most of medals. Tell me a group sport which China is one of the best in the world... No one. The main Olympics sports (Athletics, Swimming and Gymnastics) are way different to professional group sports like football, basketball or handball. They need strong leagues and that can not be created in a couple of years. It is a decades process. Right now their level is waaaaay behind the best countries in the world. If they have not been able to be the best of Asia (they have not qualified to World Cup), to talk to compete with the best European and American countries is, for the moment, a chimera.
you'vegotmail
China has always performed reasonably well in the olympics since they started competing fully in 1984 (almost always in the top 5) so it wasn't such a big step forward for them to go toe to toe with the USA. Compared to football where China is about as weak as it comes it showed improvement in the 2000s. It actually managed to qualify for the World cup 2002 and in 2004 it reached the AFC Asians Cup finals but lost to Japan since then it hasn't done anything noteworthy. Xi Jinping is apparently a football enthusiast and they are supposedly investing in football (their league has gained more attention) but it chances of showing in 5 to 10 years are remote at best. Its goal should be to qualify to Qatar in 2022. (asian qualifiers are significantly easier than european ones) The ER is fluctuating over the pension reforms which the government is pushing to be voted on this year. Fullbuster
No significant release this weekend, a good thing for Justice League and Thor 3. They're likely to suffer with Star Wars taking many screens away from them.
