R$26M were made last weekend with 1.1M tickets sold, a drop of 40% compared to last weekend.

Guardians had an outstandind second weekend, already passing the total of the first movie and short of only R$6M on passing the second one. Mario have passed Frozen 2 and with R$2M more it will pass Despicable Me 3. Evil Dead Rise became the 10th movie to reach 1 million admissions in a very impressive run, it have beaten the previous movie by more than 5X! John Wick IV left the top 10 after also an impressive run with more than R$50M, 3.5x more than the previous movie.

The new releases failed to catch on, Book Club opened with less than half of the first movie and Knights of the Zodiac saw another 80%+ drop.

Fast X arrives next weekend, alongside One True Loves and A Ruptura. Barraco em Família is also expanding after opening last weekend...for some reason...

We can tell however that Spiderverse had a good start and Fast X keeps growing fast.

Hell yeah! I expect the comp to drop tomorrow because T-03 was terrible for Guardians and it rebounded like crazy the next day, but great day and let's hope it goes up tomorrow.

Pretty great day! If actually managed to improve over Guardians even with Guardians bouncing back like crazy at T-02. Strong opening weekend is likely coming.

☠️

Obs: I decided to include a Fast X comp as an unofficial comp, borrowing the idea from @Porthos. Why unnoficial? Two reasons: first, because pre-sales here generally have much shorter windows than domestic (superhero movies are the exception), so the numbers are more distorted. In this vein, since Fast X has a 12 days window and TLM a 14 days window, things get a little bit tricky. The other reason is the fact that TLM is not having any previews, so the numbers are based on Thursday opening day, but even then it has less shows than Fast X.
For curiosity, the Fast X comp yesterday was at 1.344x and tomorrow is already going to decrease below 1 lol

So... A lot to say about this. First, there is ONE show Tuesday night and I don't know why (I will not track it because is irrelevant for the big picture, so numbers are only from Wednesday shows). It's also not being played Wednesday at the biggest and most popular theater for reasons? It's not about the chain, becase two other theaters where it's having Wednesday previews are from the same chain (UCI), so I don't know if it's only a bug, still figuring the allocation or just is not going to play there for whatever reason. Still, just very few showings for this across the board. I wonder why? Maybe they don't think it has the demand for it, the first one did around 31m BRL if I recall correctly. @ThatWaluigiDude can you confirm the number?

As far as sales go, not what I hoped it to be at all. I don't think this will increase over here like domestic will even if it increases by a lot.

Here we have it, the last day of pre-sales of Fast X, in a really strong performance here, more than doubling those of Guardians 3. Probably will take a while until I track again (Unless, like I said, someone ask me to do it), my expectations for the movie is really high and I wonder if this is reflecting for the rest of Brasil.

Although not crazy good like Natal, it's doing really solid numbers over here too and the finish is looking like very strong, so I guess at least OW is gonna be very good.

Four more showings, but the sales are just abysmal. Could it be that this, contrary to the domestic market, will play like a family animated movie instead of more of a regular superhero sequel? The other reason is that it will play similar to the first one and still be a relatively niche animation.

Following a research, those are, in order, the top 5 most anticipated upcoming movies in Brazil:

1 - The Flash

2 - Fast X

3 - Transformers: Rise of the Beasts

4 - The Little Mermaid

5 - Spider-Man: Across the Spiderverse

From pre sales alone, Fast X is already the third best selling movie of the month.

Holy shit, Fast X waited for the very last moment to go overdrive. I kinda regret not checking it out how it was doing today here lol

First 12 days: 976 tickets sold

Last day: 744 tickets sold

But not only today, since T-03 it was going really strong tbh. Today was something else though.

Not surprising. Since you just started tracking, these things will surprise but a Fast film will be way more backloaded than a MCU

I know it's more backloaded from the pre-sales thread, but I was surprised by how much more backloaded it is.
