GotG3 T-3 Cinemark: 7 showings, 2091 seats, 56 sold (2.68%)

GotG3 T-3 Cinepolis: 7 showings, 1289 seats, 168 sold (13.03%)

GotG3 T-3 Moviecom: 4 showings, 536 seats, 72 sold (13.43%)

GotG3 T-3 Cineflix: Not holding pre-sales.

GotG3 T-3 Total: 3916 seats, 296 sold (7.56%)

New sold: 23

Too tired to post it yesterday, but here it is. It strikes me as odd how Moviecom, despite being the smallest chain here, is sort of carring the new sales on its back. One premium screening on Cinepolis is half sold, late night screens are empty so far.

This friday pre-sales for Fast X starts.

So, not a great pace at all in Natal too.

GotG3 T-2 Cinemark: 7 showings, 2091 seats, 65 sold (3.11%)

GotG3 T-2 Cinepolis: 7 showings, 1289 seats, 225 sold (17.46%)

GotG3 T-2 Moviecom: 4 showings, 536 seats, 81 sold (15.11%)

GotG3 T-2 Cineflix: Not holding pre-sales.

GotG3 T-2 Total: 3916 seats, 371 sold (9.47%)

New sold: 75

Now that is what I'm talking about, lots of tickets sold today.

In case someone didn't noticed, the weekend numbers are out only tomorrow due to the holiday.

Nice to see!
We will see a little bit latter today if the same thing happened in Salvador.

So... again: not enough data to know how pre-sales behave here, but selling less for the second day in a row at this far in the run does not bodes well at all.

Obs: I have a feeling that reviews matter a lot less over here than it does domestic, so there is probably not a significant bump with it.

Now we are talking! Huge increase today here, in line with the increase seen in Waluigi's numbers. I wonder what was the catalyst for this or if it's just "random". Maybe @Carlangonz theory about the holiday was indeed right.

Have to say, amazing job you guys are doing! Really cool to see tracking to a pretty interesting market!

Appreciate it :)

I decided to begin tracking because Brazil is one of the few big markets that did not had tracking at all and Waluigi was doing all the heavy lifting over here alone for a long time. I hope this increases the interactivity in this thread and provides a better glance of what a movie is headed for over here.

Amazing job indeed @Flamengo81. Great to see us cover more markets. Its not like China/Korea where we have this data served on a platter 🙂

Hopefully you will have comps when you track say Spiderverse or Flash or Indy.

Really appreaciate it, Keyser. You are one of the many guys (and girls too ofc) that I have a lot of respect for over here and all the fantastic job all of you do in the domestic tracking thread and all the other threads like Japan, China, Korea and etc. is all really helpful, educative and fascinating for me and certainly for others too.

I definitely pretend to track all of those movies and to continue to provide numbers over here, it's a bit wearing but at the end of the day is a very pleasant hobby that I really like. Of course it depends on my availability, as many of you might think life is definitely not easy here in Brazil and there are more important things that demand our time and attention, but my intention is to keep going.

Hi guys, can I ask how much has Mario grossed yesterday? I was curious because Italy and Brazil are head to head and since yesterday was an holiday we still might be slighty ahead, at least for the moment

Waluigi will probably post the long weekend numbers later today. But if I remember well, Brazil was estimated to be at about 20.6M and Italy 19.6M.

1.8M tickets were sold during the period and R$38.9M, monday alone sold 500k tickets and was the best monday of the year, for several movies it was the best day for this weekend.

Another weekend boosted by a holiday, Mario have now passed Puss in Boots 2 to become the highest grossing animation of the year and it is less than R$7M behind to pass Minions 2 to become the highest grossing animation since the pandemic.

Knights of the Zodiac had a worse launch than what I was expecting, honestly was expecting more.

D&D is really close to pass 1 million admissions, the movie did not move audiences in most regions but at least it did find an audience in Brazil. Another one that is close to pass is Evil Dead while John Wick 4 will break the R$50M. Ninguém é de Ninguém is now the highest grossing brazilian movie this year.

Next weekend is time for the Guardians, alongside Rodeo and O Último Chamado de Maria.

I wonder if is possible for Mario to beat Minions to become the highest grossing animation ever. What do you think?

It can totally do it, right now at the same point aligned Mario is ahead Minions in almost R$15M. Problem is that competition will be rougher now for Mario, this weekend we have GotG 3, in two weeks we will have Fast X and Little Mermaid right after, while Minions after the fourth weekend had Ant-Man, Pixels and Fantastic Four, much lighter competition.

New sold: 145 (68 excluding Cineflix)

After all Cineflix was holding pre-sales but only in-person, I don't know if that is common or if they do it with every movie, I will see it next time I track. It still strikes me as odd why the largest chain had the smaller boost since I started tracking. But that's it, I hope that in the future we can use this numbers to better track the performance of the next releases.
