I never doubted that it would be an economic failure, these big events usually are. As for the event itself, it still has yet to start. But if you are already here, you might want to change the headline, considering that TASM 2 is on pace to finish lower than the first one. The insatisfaction can be pinpoint on the unprepared response to the protests of 2013. If they had dealed with the protesters in a better way last year and not with pepper spray and rubber bullets none of this would be happening. Dilma should have known better, after all, she herself was a victim of the dictatorship.
Hernan Gonzalez
Maleficent sold 906600 tickets during its first weekend. DoFP resisted pretty well easing only 39.5%, 768408 admissins during the weekend, 2630364 admissions in total
Goffe
DOFP is having good legs here. Goffe
It's from the link of Goffe Rises. But indeed you're right he gave no sources...Even if I don't think someone would take the trouble to make these stats up I'll need to wait his answer before putting that on the first page! I got the numbers from Adorocinema.com.br, Epipoca.com.br, Wikipedia, Filmesb.com.br, BoxOfficeMojo.com (for theaters count) and some other sources around the net. it was really complicated to find those numbers, especially for old movies. keysersoze123
Would box office slow down to a crawl in a week or so once the big event start. I doubt movies would be on anyone's mind.

I doubt movies would be on anyone's mind.According to reports Brazilians are not so interested in this cup, much less than previous events outside Brazil.A few weeks ago I thought How to Train your Dragon 2 could be hurt quite badly but now I think it could perform quite well.
