Any future potential 1 billies?

Avengers 4, I say. Perhaps one of the Fast and Furious, if it strikes the right balance of cast/plot/marketing?

Doubt The Lion King could make it, the highest live Disney remake is still Maleficent with less than 600M lc. Avatar 2 would need to be a huge phenomenon released at the right time.

3 movies over 500M lc so far (IW, BP, Overboard).  I2 will be the 4th and JWLK could become the 5th; there were 4 in 2017, 3 in 2016 and 4 in 2015.

Overboard is the most surprising by far. I don't think the rest of the year brings a sixth one, even $400M+ looks like a long stretch to me right now, months ago i thought about HT3 easily passing that but marketing feels muted compared to HT2, al least has the holidays all by itself. Grinch could surprise, is a well-established character and with Universal's marketing machine behind it can be another SLOP.

Although i do expect more $300M+ grossers: AMATW, The Nun, Venom and WIR2, maybe Aquaman.

Doubt about the Fast franchise, they need to bring something really really new and good, revitalize the franchise for a second time or F7 will be its peak, same for DM which heads towards an Ice Age fate, that's why I'm skeptical about TS4, is more of what people asked for.

The Lion King is the biggest mystery of all to me, the movie is beloved and a perfect 4-quadrant unlike BATB or Maleficent and the play/musical was huge in here (longer run than Les Miserables, Wicked and BATB, over $300M+ lc and over 1M admissions sold with 30% audience that went to a musical for the first time) but there's still too early to do a call for the movie.

JUNE 21-24 WEEKEND. DINOS AND HEROES DESTROY EVERYTHING ELSE; FALLEN KINGDOM ON PAR WITH FIRST JURASSIC; INCREDIBLES 2 IS ALREADY IN PIXAR'S TOP 5.

Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom

- Literally flat from first Jurassic World, except that this one had a bigger OD, holidays are around the corner so we'll see if has enough mojo to pass JW's $685M, by now we'll say it'll be close to Incredibles 2 over the #2 of 2018.

- Third biggest June opening (3-Day) behind I2 and JW, sixth highest opening (3-Day) for Universal.

Incredibles 2

- Better than expected drop, 3rd best second weekend for an animation only behind Coco and Toy Story 3.

- Running 10% behind Minions and 37% above Dory at the same point of release, that puts it in a $630M-$650M final range, enough to be in Top 5 animated, 50/50 chance to move JW from #10 in all-time chart, that's considering FK doesn't beat it.

- Today passes IO and MU as 3rd biggest Pixar title in the country, next friday passes IA3 as 7th largest animation ever.

FACT: This is the first time ever we have back-to-back two titles thay open with $200M+ and second time in history that #1 grosses $200M+ and #2 makes $100M+, the first time was last year's Dia de Muertos weekend with Coco second frame of $200M and Thor: Ragnarok opening with $140M

Yup, no competition for a while, and the World Cup is not denting the box office... yet. General elections are scheduled for Sunday July 1st, unless there's unrest doubt it'll affect much.

The only "but" are legs, even with a full house they could be anaemic if OW was very front-loaded.

Looking at 2012's elections weekend i think JW2 and I2 can have relatively good holds, although more adult-skewed titles do can suffer

Will the ER be affected by the inevitable win of the far left candidate? I think the stock market doesn't like candidates that are antagonistic towards free market.

There's a lot of speculation right now about it, don't know how much an eventual victory would affect, although a shake is going to happen. ER is actually recovering this week but that doesn't mean necessarily a sign of July 1st.

I didn't saw that coming; Fallen Kingdom started flat from JW and now is 6% ahead at the same point of release while I2 was 10% behind Minions as of last weekend and now has reduced the gap to a whopping 4%! Both have a shot at $700M+but AMATW, HT3 and Skyscraper may prevent that, upcoming weeks are going to be exciting for sure.

As Asian and Australian markets start with operations and AMLO wins presidential election the peso is dropping to very good levels to be honest. I guess markets were ready for it @UserHN.

If that's the case, then good news for Ant-Man and the Wasp.

ER seems to be stable enough in the 20xUSD vicinity, good news indeed for the upcoming summery movies!

JWLK total = 465.89M lc, 8.83M tickets sold.  Sub 50% drop from the 3-day OW (without previews).

I2 total = 616.5M lc, 12.2M audience. Nothing short of amazing.

JUNE 28-JULY 1 WEEKEND. FALLEN KINGDOM AND INCREDIBLES 2 TAKE ON WEEKEND WITH EXCEPTIONAL HOLDS; NEW OPENERS GET A SPOT ON THE CHART.

Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom

- 4th best second weekend of all-time, 16.5% over JW's second frame

- 4% above Jurassic World at the same point of release

Incredibles 2

- Running 3% behind Minions at the same point of release

- Very likely to pass $700M if can hold the impact of AMATW, highly probable to pass JW as 9th highest grosser of all-time, it should pass BvS as 11th at some point during the week.
