The Dark Alfred
Another terrific Wednesday gross for TGM on its cruise to the 700m Mothership, that's in sight now. TITANIC was still bathing in Oscar glory, splashing big waves all week. CROCODILE DUNDEE figures are only estimates, but the Christmas week keeps it #2. MAVERICK comfortably ahead of E.T and AVATAR's 97th day. Stunning. Biggest domestic 14th Wednesday: 1. Titanic $1,432,311 3,169 $451 $498,610,790 Mar 25 2. Crocodile Dundee $967,120 1,423 $708 $117,114,220 Dec 29 3. Top Gun: Maverick $493,154 2,962 $166 $692,863,033 Aug 31 4. E. T. $428,780 1,485 $288 $245,968,992 Sep 15 5. LonePirate
This is a fairly decent weekend for BP and TGM comparisons as this was Memorial Day weekend for BP where is made about $610K for the four days. TGM should officially pass BP on Sunday, maybe Saturday if the $3 walk ups are strong. BP still grossed almost $2M after Memorial Day weekend so $715M looks to be the minimum final floor for TGM. The Dark Alfred
Another terrific Thursday gross for TGM on its cruise to 700m. TITANIC reached 500m on its 98th day of release, just days after it dominated the annual Oscar gala. Not a bad week for James Cameron and co. CROCODILE DUNDEE figures are only estimates, but the Christmas week keeps it #2. We have a new entry on our list, THE SIXTH SENSE. It galls me to say it, but for reasons known only to the Almighty and Bruce Willis' guardian angel, the M. Night flick jumped 52% on its 14th Thursday to claim the 4th best 98th day ever. MAVERICK still on the podium, comfortably ahead of AVATAR and the E.T. Staggering. Chill the champagne for the 700m party. Biggest domestic 14th Thursday: 1. Titanic $1,438,240 3,169 $453 $500,049,030 Mar 26 2. Crocodile Dundee $957,120 1,423 $707 $118,101,220 Dec 30 3. Top Gun: Maverick $466,711 2,962 $158 $693,329,744 Sep 1 4.
