Incredibles 2 reception is pretty much ´´great, 1 is better´´ and it was a beloved phenomenon with audiences To add, according to all metrics Incredibles 2 had absolutely amazing reception (93% RT, A+ CinemaScore, 3.33x legs). Which feels kinda weird because nobody talks about it anymore.

Incredibles 2 is like Finding Dory really liked it in the theater bought it on Blu Ray watched it again but have not had much of a desire since. Neither movie is bad or even close to being bad but the first movies are just so good and a lot to live up too.
cannastop
Incredibles 2 was an insane nostalgia bomb at the time. I don't think it's a bad movie at all, either. Also grateful that Bao was attached to it in theaters.
AniNate
It's an A+ movie until the ending. Do think Finding Dory is legit good though. Ultimately Internet cynicism will probably give way to casual appreciation for both movies when more time has passed
keysersoze123
Interesting that Stanton is making next Toy Story instead of Finding XYZ next. Or make another Wall-E 🙂 That said all his movies are great and so look forward to seeing another one from him. Also can Docter make something as well. Pixar already has a variety of styles throughout its catalog so I don't know what will be coming up in the future. Also, I'm not sure if Pixar would abandon its signature realistic animation style that they're already known for with films like Toy Story 4. I still have bit of a hard time imagining them making a full-on Spider-Verse-style animated film aside from few snippets in a film.

Stanton would've been my pick for CCO if Docter didn't become one since his films have a lot of energy and childlike wonders.
AniNate
Would like to hear that from some corroborating sources before assuming it's truth. Docter might've just said he was involved in it in some other capacity. Stanton just was working on a live action film so seems odd that he would have the time for that as well.

Well, one thing to note is that, when it comes to Brad Bird, there was a 3-year gap between Tomorrowland and Incredibles 2. Granted, Stanton's live-action film and Toy Story 5 has a 2-year gap, but still. Besides, if he needs more time, they might delay the film about a year. In The Blink of an Eye finished shooting in May last year iirc. It’s not dated, but it’s rumored to release later this year after some festivals. He’s probably free to work on TS5 indeed. 1

Even if that's the case it's odd that this info is only coming from one twitter handle I had previously never heard of, especially since it was allegedly from a prepared statement Edited June 9 by AniNate

There has been considerable ramp up since then, particularly over the last several days it looks like. Even still, 2024 at the box office has taught me not to lock in any number. At the end of the day it needs those walk ups from families. It can't just be nostalgia bait for adults. If they don't get the families then the numbers right now mean nothing. AniNate
If you don't have the sales yet to say with confidence that the movie will open to $100 mil then you shouldn't say that. Tracking is not intended to be a final prediction, it can get better or worse as you get closer to release.
