Cruella was another casualty of Chapek era. It would have done significantly more in pre COVID for sure. Plus it was not a simple recycle of an animation classic like most Disney LA movies are. It makes sense it did well in markets where it was not affected in other ways. 

 

I am hopeful Barbie could breakout as well.

I'd say the August 18-20th weekend might be closer as Oppenheimer will be opening in Korea. Barbie should be ahead next weekend comfortably as it's opening in Japan, UAE, Saudi.

barbie made 145 last week if it will drop 41 percent every week it will finish with 782,5  if 35 percent 843 mln.  no chance for 1.6 mln  around 32.5 drop needed for 1.5b. 1.3B locked, 1.4B almost certain.

Also let'see what warner will make on the next weeks. They can release it with new formats like IMAX or It's possible also a sing- along version at some point.

Barbie made just 3 millions in south korea i dont think it may gross so much money in japan that it will make more than 1.6B, of course japan will help with 1.5B.
