Outside of Italy , it's a 21% drop for this weekend OS. Expect the same 15M of Minions 2 for Italy and with 360-365M DOM total and 35% drop OS (which is the worst case now) , he will finish probably around 950M , higher than Minions 2 . What a stability for this franchise !!!

Deadline: Italy debuted at No. 1 with $6.9M and Greece had a record-breaking start with the biggest opening day of the franchise and the biggest opening day of the year. Also notable, the UK & Ireland enjoyed a huge 47% uplift on Saturday of weekend 7, benefitting from rainy weather.

Tops to date are China ($54.9M), UK ($53.8M), Mexico ($44.5M), Germany ($35.9M) and France ($30.7M).

In Greece, the film didn't really break any opening-day or opening-weekend records, since this was technically its second weekend. Its English-language version had already been released at 80 screens last weekend (considered a wide release, imo). This weekend, it expanded into 217 screens due to the release of its Greek-dubbed version. It sold 77,082 admissions, surpassing 'Minions: The Rise of Gru', which had a similar pattern of release. More in the latest weekend report.

Rise of Gru at the exact same point in release:

514m overseas and 355m domestic for a total of 869M worldwide (but not including the rest of its China run, and with it having 1 more week of run in both Germany and UK than DM4).

It had an 8.5m overseas weekend (-China) and a 2.7m domestic weekend for a total of: 11.2m global weekend without China.

Adding the rest of its China run, it would be at: 524m overseas and 355m domestic for a total of 879m worldwide.

DM4 at the same point in its run (but with 1 less week of run in UK and Germany): 560m overseas and 354m domestic for 914m worldwide total.

It had an 11.3m overseas weekend (-China) and a 4.08m domestic 3-day weekend for a total of: 15.4m global weekend without China.

5th straight Despicable Me franchise film to cross $900M worldwide,

Even with 40% drop , it will finish at 955M WW. I predict more a 35% drop and a 965M WW finish around the same as DM2.

Domestically this franchise is very consistent. Overseas it has dipped a bit. It’s struggling to make $600M OS, no more $700M+.

As per Deadline, DM4 overseas at this point in its run is more than DM2, DM3 and Minions 2 excluding China in today's exchange rates.

DM3 - China and Russia: 580m OS

Minions 2 - China and Russia: 540m OS

DM2 - China and Russia: 530m OS

DM4 will probably make 550m OS without China and Russia. With better ER, it would have exceeded DM3's OS-C figure.

So the series has remained consistent overseas as well. China and differences in exchange rates is what made the difference but not the rest of the world.

DEADLINE

Illumination/Universal’s Despicable Me 4 added $7.3M to reach an international cume through Sunday of $571.6M. The overseas performance is above Minions: The Rise of Gru and DM3 at the same point (excluding China). Globally, Gru and the gang are now at $929.5M.

Italy stood out in its third frame, retaining the No. 1 spot despite the arrival of Beetlejuice 2 (and its Venice platform). The gross is now $14.5M after three weekends, making it the 3rd highest grossing movie of the year in the market. The overall top play remains the UK with $58.7M, followed by China at $57.3M.
