JAPAN BOX OFFICE | Demon Slayer breaks all time record for OW

Recommended Posts

Corpse said:  It has become the fourth Highest-Grossing Film of All-Time with a total of ¥19.85 billion ($194.6 million) and 15.59 million admissions.

I thought it was 5th (behind SA, Titanic, HMC and HP1).

What is the HMC total after all then?

Corpse explained that HMC made 19.6B in its original in its original run and 22B including a re-release.

Japan hates superhero movies

That's very interesting. You'd think a major contributor to geek culture like Japan would lap supes up. Just goes to show how you shouldn't generalize people's tastes and preferences, even if they seem to belong to the same socio-cultural demographic.

Nothing's stopping Frozen. Last weekend's slightly disappointing drop has been compensated by Monday. $250M is a foregone conclusion. $300M is likely and $315M is, well, possible, but I want to keep my hopes down for now.

What I really want is for Frozen to reach $900M OS. If it beats HP7:P2, even better.

Yup. TMK1 has been 35 to 36% market share on the weekend but mon shows 27%. Labas said the Aeon was better in presales for mon.

TMK1x was 100k over on the weekend and short 800k last midweek. Aeon must be drawing better during the week.

Good news is the midweek has bumped 10%+. It was fading faster than the weekends but has snapped back!

109.......1781 -24%Toho number is useless. Looks like a 10-20% drop is indicated by the 3 small chain, but if aeon is scooping up tix like yesterday and last week it could be less. I was 20% short last midweek. Had tuesday at .75m. I assume it was .90m. My guess would be .76m for today down 15%. Last tues was flat from the previous week when the rest of the week was down 10%+. Hard to extrapolate anything from today and yesterday but will have a better idea tomorrow
