PAW PATROL? That's really getting the 3rd most seats?

EDIT

I think Paw Patrol might ONLY be playing at the AEON chain in Japan though. Don't see it at any other chain.

"Paw Patrol: The Movie" - ¥298M

Anyways, it's not the upcoming "Paw Patrol: The Mighty Movie" which is scheduled for December. This one is like an compilation/OVA maybe - 58 mins runtime and primarily release on AEON Cinemas

Ahh.

That kind of makes it even more insane that it's getting so many seats... like why

Post- CoVid-19 Imported Animation

  • The Super Mario Bros. Movie* - ¥13.68B
  • Minions: The Rise Of Gnu - ¥4.442B
  • Sing 2 - ¥3.311B

Would be nice for Elemental to make it past Minions 2. Or at least Sing 2. I think it's possible.

No, it's Wednesday. But Disney gave an informal definition in regards to Elemental.

Including the weekend after Obon ends might make sense from a box office standpoint.

Great, glad to see it is elemental that grab the holiday benefit instead of Barbie.

Probably not enough to win nationwide I guess since usuals should take a bit higher share due to toho discounts. Still very good.

                 TWR                    HDYL?

OW         ¥960m(2 days)     ¥1.626bn (3 days)

Without any major boost like "retirement" announcement, HDYL likely finish at around ¥8.5bn. A disappointing come back from Miyazaki.

HDYL tanking doesn't matter that much financially since Ghibli is already over anyway. This is just the goodbye. Still sucks to have Miyazaki go out with a sub 10b film though, but I'll be seeing it regardless.

yeah I'm still looking forward to it. Even if it wasn't the same humongous hit his previous movies were.
