That would guarantee a finish above DM3 for highest grossing Illumination film. Have to see what post Golden Week legs are like, but this opening is better than I expected even accounting for the holiday boost.

After seeing Weekend PS, Distributor of Mario - Toho-Towa confirmed that ¥10B ($73.4M) is happening &attention will be paid whether Disney's "Frozen II" (¥13.37B/$98M) can be cleared out or not ~ meaning they are planning Admission Privileges.

It's just distributor fanfare, I remember toho was hyping up JJK taking down the OD record to build buzz during the morning which didn't happen. If it happens it happens, and if not, no one's going to care.

That means somewhere around ¥11.5 billion to beat Mexico for highest-grossing OS market. Will be very interesting to follow this run. Top 3 OS market is guaranteed at least.

Distributor does some privilege like giveaways of cards not available for sale or some rare artifacts that attracts the core fandom. The idea is for better Weekend Holds (could be an increase in consecutive Weekend or mild decrease depending on Giveaway Effects) & encourage repeated viewing. Big Distributor could go with 5M/3M/1M and for small distributor - 300K/150K
