Do you still see $700m as possible? From $284m to $700m is a LOOOOONG way.I don't see it, not without a big breakout in China.

China will disppoint too given it's underperforming across Asia, TH may be released after the Chinese New year holiday.

Yes. It is very much possible. It could reach 600m from current markets, another 90-100m from Australia+China and 300-310m DOM.(And at this point I seem to have one of the highest projections for TH1..... quite Ironic, isn't it? :P)

The Middle Earth saga coaxed approximately 10m admissions through Warner Bros Pictures International from more than 18,600 screens in 59 territories for a tremendous $284m running total after two weekends.

New Line/MGM/Warner Bros’ The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey opened in Russia on $16.8m (Rbl 520m) from 2,129 screens including previews. 3D represented 65% of the total box office.

Approximately $3.9m came from IMAX venues as the large-screen format’s global running total climbed to $29.5m.

Germany led the second weekend holdovers following a 17% slide that generated $12.6m (€9.6m) from 1,408 for $35.1m (€26.9m). The UK produced $9.1m (£5.6m) from 1,546 screens after a 41% slide for $37.8m (£23.5m) and France generated $6.7m (€5.1m) for $20.5m (€15.7m).

Spain added $4.2m (€3.2m) ($4.2m) from 1,010 for %14.4m (€11.1m), Italy $3.1m (€2.4m) from 734 for $10.6m (€8.1m), Mexico $2.4m (Ps ­­30.5m) from 1,767 for $10.7m (Ps 136.7m) and Japan $1.7m (¥146.2m) from 880 for $7.7m (¥637.1m).
