Phil in the Blank

Unpopular movie opinions.

Slumdog Millionaire is Danny Boyle's worst movie.

Zero Dark Thirty is far better than The Hurt Locker.

Kill Bill is my favorite Tarantino film.

The Matrix Reloaded is as good or slightly better than The Matrix (but Revolutions is terrible [and the Animatrix is the single best thing to ever come from the franchise]).

zimmer is shithouse, that's for sure. well maybe that's a bit of a strong word, but by god POTC4 is awful.

And that makes him shit? So he had a bad score, everyone has one of them from time to time. You can't say that the other scores he did were shit, like Inception, Batman series, the upcoming Man of Steel, The Lion King, Rain Man, Sherlock Holmes, The Last Samurai... Let's be honest. He's one of the best currently in business.

Zimmer is hardly ummm subtle in his work. And his constant reuse of themes and motiffs make it very easy to confuse which movie this particular track of music of his comes from.

But, I do feel that his music is ideal for certain types of movies where you just need to get the heart pumping.

Hans Zimmer has scored over 100 movies. People judge him from just a few films. The "repetitive" scores people aways bring up make up a tiny percentage of his work. Also, the idea that his music is all just background music with no memorable themes is bullshit.
