Great hold from last weekend. Looks to be seperating itself from WiR

Short theatrical release windows like this only make more people choose to wait for the video to either rent or buy, cutting into both repeat visits to the movie theater and even sole trips. I know that's how I feel, and it's common sense anyway.

Big Hero 6 had strong daily numbers this week. Even stringer than Ralph when we compare their week-to-week daily drops. Let's see what the weekend brings.

Yes, it's been doing this all week, as Dingdong123 pointed out earlier--up more like 24% (nominally) over Wreck-It Ralph rather than around 12%. If it stays this way from this point on, then the total difference it will make would be only a few million bucks, but nevertheless it sure doesn't seem to be falling behind, and who knows, it may be a sign of strong late legs.

If it only maintains it's 24% lead on WIR it will finish at $216m. Since the % lead's been increasing lately though it has a chance to hit $220m

Mon Dec. 15, 2014 7 $375,612 -78.6% -1.3% 2,943 $128 $185,611,522 39

Now that's a great hold week over week hold. Almost 50% higher than WiR.

it's still on for at least $210M tho, right?

Yes. The holidays can take it past 200M then after which it can crawl into 210-215M. 215-220M can happen depending on its holds from now on.

And Big Hero 6 will likely fall off the weekend top 5 this coming weekend. It spent 6 weekends in the top 5.

In comparison to past november animated releases:

Wreck-it Ralph - 3 weekends in the top 5

Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa - 3 weekends in top 5

Tangled - 4 weekends at top 5

The Incredibles - 5 weekends at top 5

Monsters, Inc - 6 weekends in top 5

Frozen - goddamn 11 weekends in the top 5

So yeah, i guess this can speak to Big Hero 6's longevity on its own right.
