The Princess and the Frog and Winnie the Pooh? <_<

The former was a format problem, not so much the advertising. It still made over $100m DOM, which might have been below expectations, but is pretty solid all things considered.

Pooh was a release date mishap, more than anything else. And it wasn't even a huge financial disappointment, considering the low budget was.

Penguins of Madagascar and Home have changed release dates. Penguins is now being released a few weeks after BH6. Is this tougher competition for BH6?!

I would actually say yes. Home is a bomb waiting to happen. I can see Penguins pulling Puss in Boots numbers.

Probably marginally, yes. But Thanksgiving is open enough that multiple family films can succeed.

If there's a problem BH6 has, it's just with its release date in general. Thanksgiving is just plain better.

It's a shame WiR didn't have a Thanksgiving release date. It might have reached 200m if it did. :(

BH6 should be more worried about Mockingjay, quite frankly. The Marvel name will give it a push towards audiences beyond young children.

Teen males that go see a Marvel film might not necessarily go watch BH6. But BH6 should have more of a family audience than a typical Marvel action flick though.

It seems like it might be similar to the Frozen teaser, then, and it won't be footage actually in the movie. It's also reminiscent of many Pixar teasers. The first one for The Incredibles comes to mind.

Nooooooooo!

But at least it will show the actual lead of the film and the relationship with his robot. Unlike a certain other teaser that concentrated on the hi jinks of a snowman and reindeer.

Frozen managed to perfectly co-exist with CF, and an argument could be made that the more girl-centric Frozen had a bigger overlap of target demographics with Katniss than BH6.

It's Penguins of Madagascar that I'm concerned about, even though I cannot believe they made an entire movie on THOSE characters!
