Rsyu
HTTYD2 has a higher presale than GOTG? Good for Dragons, I guess... Do you have Hercules total? How bad is it? Around $570K gross. This week's releases will kill it (although it looks almost dead already).
KATCH-2D2
Around $570K gross. This week's releases will kill it (although it looks almost dead already). That is absolutely terrible.. Can it even make it pass 1m? I've never seen a big budget Hollywood movie made less than 1m in SK before.

No chance for $1 million I'm afraid. Seat saturation has been terrible, near 10% for weekdays. I don't doubt that many people in Korea haven't got the foggiest idea that a movie called Hercules is showing in theatres now.

While Hercules is well known in Korea, he isn't really all that popular and the Rock isn't a really big draw either, especially not as a solo lead role. The grosses of the Fast and furious series are pretty modest too. Also, there was a film called Legend of Hercules around April which was extremely poorly received and probably deflated interest in Hercules even further. Hercules will end up grossing less than Legend of Hercules too which managed to break $1 million.

It's a shame that Hercules is going to make less than LOH and I, Frankenstein though.. Worst release date ever.

Rsyu
So HTTYD2 will beat the first movie in admissions but will do less in $. Damn you currency exchange! Currency exchange isn't the problem, it's doing much less in local currency too which indicates that the average ticket price is cheaper for HTTYD2 than it was for HTTYD. HTTYD came just after Avatar so 3D was much more popular then. Overall the 3D/4D/IMAX percentage for HTTYD was 76.1% while it's only 25.9% for HTTYD2. So I'm not surprised it's doing less in gross even though the admissions figure is higher.

Yeah it seams that people didn't want to see it in 3D this time, which is suprising because the first movie had really good 3D and this one also had a really good 3D too.
