$10 says it doesn't? Note: I fully understand if you don't wish to actually bet. There's just something about the Oscars that brings out the gambler in me

No money for me, I never seem to win bets that involve money. Lost 20 bucks last year when Lubezki lost out again, and another 20 when ROTPOTA lost. I'm willing to do something like change my pic, and display name for a month tho.

That's totally cool cause I would have lost both of those as well. We'll figure something out! Edited by RichWS

I hope Silver Lining does not get nominated for one reason:Just to see Harvey crying because he was snubbed and saying people hate him. (Which he actually did when Cold Mountain failed to get nominated)

Doesn't he like also have Django and something else? *The Master, I think.

Yup. Weinstein has a pretty good slate this year: Django, Master, SLP, Quartet, Killing Them Softly (Which has quietly amassed a 97% last time I checked), and Intouchables (Guaranteed Foreign Language nom)

11 is too low IMO. I'm thinking Currently:

    [*]Best Picture

    [*]Best Director

    [*]Best Actor

    [*]Best Supporting Actress - Hathaway

    [*]Best Supporting Actress - Barks

    [*]Best Supporting Actor

    [*]Best Adapted Screenplay

    [*]Best Cinematography

    [*]Best Editing

    [*]Best Costumes

    [*]Best Production Design

[*]Best Makeup, and Hairstyling (They're doing teeth pulling ;) )

    [*]Best Sound Mixing

    [*]Best Original Song

[*]Misc. Nomination, maybe a second in Supporting Actor or Sound Editing

This is actually looking pretty good right now. At this point I'd take out Makeup, and place Eddie as a second supporting actor nod. Looking at 14 possibly 15 if it gets either Make-up or sound editing.

The answer is pretty obviously Les Mis unless all early indicators are bizarrely inaccurate. I predict it to break the all time record with 15.PictureDirector - HooperActor - JackmanSupporting Actress - HathawaySupporting Actress - Either Barks or Seyfried (leaning towards Barks)Supporting Actor - Either Redmayne or Crowe (leaning towards Redmayne)Adapted ScreenplayEditingCinematographyCostumesArt DirectionMakeup and HairstylingSoundSound EditingOriginal Song
