Is Duoban now an online ticketing platform? Notice some links to screens for KFP3.

Douban is a critic website, very small online ticket platform.Douban ticket system is mostly linked to Gewara, very smart part of it.

Yeah...but WOM for Star Wars wasn't really that good in China. And Star Wars....wasn't a massively huge thing for the chinese audience.

I think in the summer, people's predictions were around $150 million for Star Wars and $300 million for KFP3. Star Wars did worse than expectations due to the poor WOM. It will be interesting to see if KFP3 matches predictions with its release date just 10 days before massive competition.

Saturday Estimates

Kung Fu Panda 3: 42.8M Previews ($6.5M)

Star Wars TFA: 19.5M/732M

Boonie Bears III: 17.1M/197M

The Walk: 15.82M/28.9M

Last Witch Hunter: 10.15M/125.7M

66% drop from last saturday for SW7! what a nice hold considering the bad cool wave and unexpected competition from KFP3

Could've been worse?Yes

It's a nice hold?NO.

well, 60% is typical and would have been a nice hold for how its been performing. considering it lost mid afternoon screens to panda and the weather, 66% is a nice hold

just like with domestic we have to adjust our expectations due to weather by 10%

for china, with KFP3, and bad WOM? yes. could've been worse, -80%+ like other films often do

Actually, there is no strong new release these days.Panda only had a 3-hour preview.The hold is merely not too bad.with weak competition,it's very lucky for TFA.Such a waste for its extreme good running window

Imagine KFP3 with TFA's release date. Could have had so much potential with a month of no competition.

Panda is more suitable for winter holiday. It's a family film.If MI5 had TFA's release date,150M or even 200M would not surprise me.Martian would do better than 120M too.Imported films mostly had terrible release date last year.
