At the same time though, Tsui Hark's directed movies have done well in recent years so he obviously has a big pull too. It's marketed as a Stephen Chow movie. POTUS 2020
Both FB and YN had good ratings and apparent good WoM but unable to hold strong with screen loss. YN is going to match FB's weekend after having weaker weekdays, with TGW opening on Thursday it will continue to lag behind and finish just short of FB. Both in the $80-85m range YN PS suggest 48m for saturday DS FB Yn Day Yn Daily % +/- Last Week Tot $Tot Yn Daily % +/- Last Week Tot $Tot Yn Daily % +/- Last Week Tot $Tot Fri 81 86 13 75 77 11 76 78 11 Sat 120 47.4% 206 30 114 52.6% 191 28 120 57.5% 198 29 Sun 94 -21.3% 300 44 92 -19.3% 283 41 88 -27.1% 286 41 Mon 34 -64.0% 334 49 33 -64.6% 316 46 31 -64.2% 317 46 Tues 31 -9.4% 365 54 29 -10.1% 345 50 27 -14.4% 344 50 Wed 27 -11.0% 392 57 25 -14.0% 370 54 23 -15.3% 367 53 Thur 23 -16.1% 415 61 23 -8.7% 393 57 18 -20.7% 385 56 Fri 38 65.2% -53.3% 453 66 23 0.0% -69.2% 416 60 24 33.3% -68.5% 409 59 Sat 66 73.7% -45.0% 519 76 47 104.3% -58.8% 463 67 48 100.0% -60.0% 457 66 Sun 50 -24.2% -47.0% 569 83 36 -23.4% -60.9% 499 72 Mon 16.0 -75.8% -52.9% 585 86 10.2 -71.7% -68.7% 509 74 Tue 14.5 -9.4% -52.9% 600 88 9.3 -8.8% -68.3% 519 75 Wed 13.7 -5.5% -50.0% 613 90 8.1 -12.9% -67.9% 527 76 Thu 12.5 -8.8% -45.7% 626 92 5.8 -28.4% -74.8% 533 77 Fri 14.8 18.4% -61.1% 641 94 5.9 1.7% -74.3% 538 78 Sat 34.1 130.4% -48.3% 675 99 Sun 27.5 -19.4% -45.0% 702 103 Mon 8.7 -68.4% -45.6% 711 104 Tue 9.2 5.7% -36.6% 720 106 Wed 7.9 -14.1% -42.3% 728 107 Thu 7.5 -5.1% -40.0% 736 108 751 110.1 proj total 580 84.2 proj total 565 82.0 XR 6.82 XR 6.89 XR 6.89

Maybe it can reach the Billy Lynn number ($23.5 million after 4 weeks)... The WOM is unexpectedly excellent (8.8 in Douban, 9.4 in Maoyan, just follows Zootopia this year). Due to the decent pre-sale of the next two days, its first week should reach 110M or even more, Thu. 17.6M Fri. 21.4M (+22%) Sat. 38.2M(+80%) Sun. 33.7M(-13%) ---------------------- cume to 110.9M (about US$16.07M) To be honest, it's no doubt to surpass Billy Lynn's number at the end. eXtacy
Your Name easily heading over 100% increase today. Hacksaw Ridge should approach 40m. Fantastic Beasts will increase 200%, possibly more. Sully won't even be in the top 5 despite having IMAX. POTUS 2020
Amazing bump for Hacksaw. 80%+ for an R rated drama, That's a WoM pop. Maoyan holding at 9.4, a very high score overall, more so for a drama. It will be interesting to see how the weekdays hold. Moana going to hold 50% WoW today with 60% screen loss. YN continues to mirror FBs run closely and behind by just a few million yuan at the same point in the run. THGs PS started of strong but its daily increases continues lag other blockbusters. Thursday 6pm and Friday combined maybe 150m. With these holds and TGW, it will be a competitive market next week.
