A Marvel Fanboy
11 days gap, still much damage. Point is, audience's pockets money will have just been collected by JTTW.

A Marvel Fanboy
On New Year's Eve day (sat), 1950 theaters screened movies for movie goers, meaning over 1000 cinemas closed business on that day. A few hundreds had night shows. Only 130 theaters made midnight shows for JTTW. The 10m yuan new years eve daily gross actually is slightly less than that of 2012. A Marvel Fanboy
If the OD estimates for JTTW holds, records it has set:Biggest Chinese new year holiday debutBiggest Feb launchBiggest Stephen chow openingSecond biggest OD for a local title behind PS2Fourth biggest OD in china after TF3, PS2, titanic 3dAnd of course, biggest opening Sunday
A Marvel Fanboy
In this case, JTTW has also become the ever first movie to win the weekly box office with just one day release.About next week's performance:Noticing quite a lot cinemas just had half day open on sunday, Monday will see a flat, most likely, with some rush factor on the OD. 2.12 or tuesday, it will increase as usual. A drop on Wednesday. Then thursday, 2.14, Valentine's day, a huge bump, probably a close to 100m yuan day and its biggest single day in its entire run. Fri/sat/sun should be in line with first 3 days or below. That said, assuming it does did 64m yuan od, that is 200m yuan in 3 days, 500m in 7 days (both with Sunday included) we are looking at, all records for local movies. Michael Seng Wah
JJTW was ok. Hilarious but overall average (CGI was surprisingly bad). Should be "JTTW", not "JJTW" ... Oops I am not enjoying it, for me everything looks bad. I should have chosen I Love HK 2013 instead.

A Marvel Fanboy
Overall Sunday was also above 100m yuan, +900% from Saturday. This week, 7 days is locked to set new weekly records for both individual film and overall box office. Means Jttw to be the first film to achieve 500m yuan weekly mark; weekly box office will be around 700m yuan.As for jttw, $150m is nothing but locked. If you go bold, $200m is a lock. And obviously, it set the OD record for local movies surpassing PS2.
