A Marvel Fanboy
Skyfall in China: Live Blogging the opening of the Bond Flick Sunday 19:20PM, Jan 20. By Firedeep Less than 5 hours before the Skyfall midnight landing, pre-release ratings for the film on China's biggest two movie sites respectively are 8.0 on Mtime with 13596 WTS and 7.3 on Douban with 22812 reviews. On one of the biggest online tickets selling site, Gewara, Skyfall has sold 6556 tickets at the moment. Tracking suggests it is selling out seats at a rate slightly better than The Amazing Spiderman but far short of The Dark Knight Rises. All these numbers indicates just a decent but not spectacular opening. Skyfall will be showing on around 5500 screens from about 3000 locations on the opening day. That makes it the widest debut ever for a foreign or a local title. Many theaters are offering the film half of their screens. [midnight (All on Mondays): Avatar RMB 4M; TASM RMB 2.7M / TDKR RMB 2.3M against each other.] Any thing less than 4M midnight $640K and anything less than 40M $6.4M opening day would be considered underperforming. Fake
Skyfall is less of a midnights film than TASM/TDKR so I guess that's okay.
A Marvel Fanboy
Skyfall is less of a midnights film than TASM/TDKR so I guess that's okay.Probably ...It seems Skyfall midnight is not even matching MI4 or CZ12, both around RMB 2.6M.If today could not reach 40M, it will be officially underperforming.
