"Just last week, Zhang Hongsen, a director at the powerful regulator, the State Administration of Press, Publication, Radio, Film and Television (SAPPRFT), said 2014 was “the year when the battle between Hollywood and China really begins.” He called on theater chain owners not to give Age of Extinction 100 percent of the screening time and encouraged them to help boost locally made products."   :o

Sunday update

Trans4mers 205M  608M/$97.4M

Probably with late theater reports it will go up a bit. There is still a possibility that China OW will beat US and Canada.

It goes up again.

According to Entgroup and an officer from China Film Special Funds, it now is revised to 616m YUAN.

So TF3 China OW = 616m yuan = $99.35m, by a currency rate of 6.2:1.

Can we have an updated list of the biggest OWs in China? Chinese and Hollywood films?

Seems TF4 just beat Journey to the West for biggest OW ever.

Those media are all ridiculously wrong. Lol .They are using Journey's first eight day gross to compare with TF3's three days. Journey opened on a Sunday
