Well, It is hard to predict. China Box Office is very strange. Take "Brick Mansions" as an example, it manages took $21M in just 10 days with around 10% of showtimes ONLY!

I will cry tears of absolute joy if HTTYD2 makes $80M in China.

 

I too would like HTTYD2 do good in China. It doesn't even have a release date in Japan where Disney dominates anyway, so China might just be its last major market.

 

I am surprised with the poor performance of HTTYD2 in USA/Canada. I thought it would make at least $200 million. It was a good movie.

HTTYD2 is more appealing for chinese audience than DM2 imo.

Minions are very popular here, only second to the Panda speaking of animated characters.

DM2 also had fantastic WOM here, although I hated it.

I can see Dragon 2 has similar reception.

Brick Mansions tops Tuesday China Box Office.  It will do $30-40M.

It's pretty random, but HP8 made 61M (or at least that's what Mojo says) in China in 2011, when the market wasn't as big as today. How's Potter's popularity in China? Do you think there's any chance 'Fantastic Beasts' beats that?
