baumer
Thing is, it's almost as much as The Incredibles, even though its Sunday was $20m.It's not that great a number guys. It's a 78% drop. That is nothing out of the oridinary. And it's nowhere near The Incredibles. That film made 3.8 mill on its first Monday. Not terribly close, even The Incredible's drop would've given 500k less than what it is. Edited November 6, 2012 by lab276

RthDeadWov
He doesn't guess. He works for or has access to Rentrak.Well i don't work for rentrak and If im posting something on the day it depends what info is currently availalbe and then working out the balance which still could put you close to the mark or not, if anything for example is based off hourly grosses there a huge margin for error and a lot of factors have to be looked at before coming up with a number or a range (can't just look at raw data and assume a number, ie Film X might say at 6pm 5mil now that could for eg translate to a day total 12-18m), if actuals have started coming in you can look at previous/day week comparison, if its an opening or after a few weeks a new week and a film has lost a lot of theatres then have to take a few different things into account at least at the start of the week (if a film lost 1000 theatres you cant base a number just of theatres left, or if say an opening and there still 500 theatres not collected what is the likely average for the remaining, maybe major theatres still to come or minors)
