Man, IM3 is so close to 15M and it couldn't make it there any more.

Could MOS be No. 2 or the year? I heard it's doing well in The Philippines.

Edit: Wow, just read that it breaks OD record  :o Looks like No.1 of all time, surpassing IM3 is a big possibility now, could be a done deal even. Bode well for Asian markets.

Yup. OD record! :D

Here's the press release:

"MAN OF STEEL" Breaks All-Time First-Day Record with P69.52-M Bow

MANILA, June 13, 2013 – The new, origin film of Superman flew off to a blockbuster start yesterday as “Man of Steel” surpassed the industry's all-time opening day record with a nationwide gross of a monumental P69.52-M.“Man of Steel's” phenomenal debut bested the opening day record previously established only last April by “Iron Man 3” at P62.9-million.This was announced today by Francis Soliven, general manager of Warner Bros. (F.E.), Inc. which distributed the film. “This is a day of reckoning for Superman,” added Soliven. “He's a larger-than-life character beloved by millions of Filipinos, and this was proven today. Fans and families welcomed him back overwhelmingly as evidenced by the long lines, the ubiquitous Superman shirts everywhere, and the cheers at the end of screenings.”

Dominating the over all box-office with a 94 percent share, “Man of Steel” also posted the biggest opening day gross ever for Warner Bros. whose previous best first-day performer was “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2” at P28.3-million.From Warner Bros. Pictures and Legendary Pictures comes the epic action-adventure “Man of Steel,” under the direction of Zack Snyder (“300,” “Watchmen”).%

Thanks Olive, that's 7.4M for 5-day OW I believe. MOS opened yesterday on Wed, so it'll be a 5-day OW too. Will be interesting to see how MOS will hold over the weekend. IM3 broke every daily records after the OD record, MOS should be able to do the same with some if not all.

5.6 M for MOS. Won't beat TA or IRON MAN lll but still huge. 10 M possible.

That's great for MOS. I guess it dropped off quite big after the holiday OD. But still, amazing number, and 10M+ is nothing to scoff at. I think it will end close to 11M.

Do we have day-to-day break down for OW yet? If not, guess we'll have to wait for forg with that info.

Unfortunately no daily breakdown yet. Expect bigger numbers for MOS ll.

You mean an increase in actuals? Cause I think that'll be the case.

edit: sorry, misread it, I thought you wrote MOS. And of course, MOS 2 will be HUGE.

No daily breakdown unfortunately but here's the press release from WB Philippines

“ MAN OF STEEL” SOARS TO THE TOP OF PH BOX OFFICE WITH P247-M IN 5 DAYS"
via press release

Manila, June 17, 2013 – Warner Bros. Pictures’ and Legendary Pictures’ “Man of Steel” has opened to a record-breaking P247-million in the Philippines, marking the all-time biggest June opening ever in the industry.

The announcement was made today by Francis Soliven, General Manager of Warner Bros. (F.E.), Inc. which distributed the film. “We’re thrilled at the tremendous response we’ve seen from audiences across the country to Zack Snyder’s exciting new vision of the iconic Super Hero,” said Soliven. “From internet presales to people lining up for theaters, `Man of Steel’ has proven to be the must-see film of the season.”

The new Superman movie shattered the record for highest June opening weekend in history previously held by “Transformers: Dark of the Moon” 2011. “Man of Steel” also outgrossed 2011’s “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 2” to claim the best weekend launch ever for a Warner Bros. title.

Earlier Wednesday, June 12 the Henry Cavill-starrer established a new record for all-time biggest first-day gross with P69.52-M, eclipsing the milestone “Iron Man 3” reached last April with P62.9-M. SM North EDSA got the lion’s share of gross receipts with P14.74-M, followed by SM Mall of Asia (P14.24-M) and SM Megamall (P10.77-M). Rounding out the Top 20 theaters are Eastwood (P5.29-M), SM Fairview (P4.99-M), Greenbelt 3 (P4.89-M), SM Aura (P4.46-M), Alabang Town Center (P4.24-M), Market! Market! (P3.96-M), Shang Cineplex (P3.70-M), SM Clark (P3.55-M), SM San Lazaro (P3.42-M) and SM Marikina (P3.21-M).
