It was Lucas who was going through the divorce and personal issues at the time he wrote the story for Temple of Doom.

YES!! Thanks.....see what happens when you get older. You forget things like that. :)

I don't know if the London critics ever have much influence but as of right now I do think Amour is going to win actress/director at the BAFTAs.

I love her. Glad she's finally getting some shine.

That's what I think. I think Amour will go 4 for 4 with the BAFTAs. Director, Actress, Screenplay, Language.

I was watching American Beauty again last night and I never knew that this movie had FOURTEEN bafta nominations. That's..... a lot.

   That's the same as TKS. What's the nomination record for BAFTA?

Hanake has the best chance with BAFTA cos they love going with more respected directors more. Even in the year of American Beauty they chose Almodovar for director.

Exactly. They like awarding these types of directors. Almadovar for a film about Aids, Lee in a film in chinese, and etc.

I only went back about 20 years but as far as I can tell Shakespeare in Love is the film with the most bafta nominations. lol.

I have my theories but I still can't come up with a rational explanation as to why that movie did so well everywhere.

One film could conceivably get 19 BAFTA nominations, but this is practically impossible because it'd have to be nommed for Visual Effects, 2 a piece in each supporting category, be British, and be a First film for someone involved in the film.
