CloneWars
Gravity 12 Years a Slave Inside Llewyn Davis Philomena American Hustle The Wolf of Wall Street Nebraska Blue Jasmine Frozen (if it's BATB quality) Captain Phillips Not against 12YAS. For an animated to win BP, not only must it be the best picture of the year, it literally has to transcend cinema itself. We have already seen many good animations not win BP such as BATB, Princess Mononoke, Toy Story, Wall-E, and UP.
CloneWars
By the way, for what it is worth, I think The Butler will get nominated. I have a strong feeling on that one.
Impact
Given the Oscars political stance, yeah probably so. (Even if it is inaccurate and other stuff I wont get into)
Cmasterclay
Lone Survivor and Out of the Furnace both got excellent reviews out of AFI, though Furnace is likely only going to get attention for the performances. LS might be a darkhorse BP nom, though

The Stingray
I doubt Gatsby will get 3 Oscars.
pieman
I doubt Gatsby will get 3 Oscars. It's actually possible although I don't think it will even be nominated for Makeup. It has a chance to win original song with 'Young and Beautiful'. Of course, it is going to be a strong contender for Production Design and Costume Design. I think it will win in costume but might lose to 12 Years a Slave in production. Edited November 13, 2013 by pieman
Jack Nevada
The category is called "makeup and hairstyling". Gatsby has a lot of the latter going on. Edited November 13, 2013 by Jack Nevada
CoolioD1
Jack, you're missing the supporting categories there. And I mostly agree with your predictions except in the acting categories and I don't think Gatsby wins make-up. It could get nominated but something a little more obvious usually wins. I'll add the supporting winners when home (Fassbender and Oprah btw).So who are you predicting for the lead acting awards, Coolio?

I'll add the supporting winners when home (Fassbender and Oprah btw).So who are you predicting for the lead acting awards, Coolio? I would say Ejiofor and Blanchett. Redford and Dench are certainly my second place predictions. I agree w/ your supporting predictions too.
Jack Nevada
Yeah, Eijiofor is definitely my second choice. Wouldn't be surprised if he won. But I can't really see Dench missing the Oscar.
Impact
I'm going to start the thread for what will have the most nominations. (And go figured-the letter v is stuck on my keyboard unless if I push it hard for some reason, well at least it was not a more common letter, still rather have it be X or Z ) Films I will put on there: 12 Years Gravity Mr. Banks Philomena American Hustle Not sure what else I should put, note that I am not expecting AH or Philomena to get tons of noms, but you never know!
