TLK
I had a festival purchase excel chart but that got lost along with some other files when my other computer died last year. Does anyone recall how much Fox paid for Beasts, and Vantage paid for Like Crazy?Fox bought Beasts for $1 million.Edit - Here is a very good NYTimes article on the business side of Sundance.http://www.nytimes.com/2013/01/22/business/media/at-sundance-early-sales-are-mixed-with-caution.html?_r=0 Edited January 23, 2013 by TLK

All this talk about it made me watch the other two films again yesterday. I hope b4 midnight can sneak an Oscar nod just like the last one did. riczhang
My goal is to go to Sundance next year or the year after. It's supposedly a much more different festival atmosphere than the September festivals.

Ezen Baklattan
Stoker's getting really strong reviews, and atmospheric horror is my favorite kind. Looking forward to this.

TLK
Park Chan-Wook is up there with any director in the world right now. I am glad that Stoker is getting good reviews which means that he will be making more Hollywood movies.
riczhang
Octavia Spencer's new film, Fruitvale, was picked up by TWC here for $2.5 million which is expensive for a film at Sundance. The film's gotten good reviews, and so has she. She's probably a good early bet for Supporting Actress. (TWC, Good Reviews, bordering on Raves, tearjerker, meaty role, true story, Oscar Bait) And she'll be the first female African-American winner to get another nomination after a win, making history. CoolioD1
Cool. They've done pretty well with their biggest Oscar projects in the last couple years. Hopefully they don't have a film coming out that could overshadow BM, then it's got a shot.
