Spain is in emergency state again. Are theaters gonna get closed again?

As of right now, cinemas are still open with the emergency state. It's not in the same level as it was in March. It's only a curfew which has been set between 11PM-6AM (it could change between 10PM-12AM or 5-7AM). For example, curfew in Madrid is from 12AM to 6AM and cinemas are not showing films in late night shows with COVID so it remains pretty much unchanged.

Top 20 actuals with 48% cinemas open. Catalonia will start opening their cinemas on Monday 23rd but there aren't new films in the town. Run moved with no date announced, only French film De Gaulle is opening big this coming Friday 20th. Next week, only small films will open.

December 4th has El Verano que Vivimos and that film could be the Padre 2 of December if most cinemas re-open on that date and a big marketing push is done with its all-star cast.

Another thing that has to be done is a campaign coming from the government pushing the headline "cinemas are safe and filled with amazing films" but this is uncertain

In Portugal we have a weekend lockdown in most of the country. Only around 20% of theaters are opened on weekends. We barely had any new releases for the last month and now the government has forbidden the sale of popcorns and drinks in cinemas. An absolute disaster. They might as well close at this point.

Spain is starting to open some areas with cinemas. Catalonia has re-opened this past Monday and releases are starting to move up. Right now, release calendar looks like this:

4th December: El Verano que Vivimos, Radioactive, War with Grandpa, Herself, The Godfather III, Kajillionaire

11th December: The Turning, All my Life, Midnight Sky, Akira, Nieva en Benidorm (Spanish movie)

18th December: Wonder Woman 1984, Hasta el Cielo (Big budgeted Spanish movie), The Glorias, Martin Eden, Host

23th December: The Croods 2

25th December: Mama o Papa (Big spanish comedy), The Father, Saint Maud

30th December: Freaky, In The Mood For Love

I think this is the stacked in terms of releases. Hope people go to the cinemas if COVID lets us breathe on Christmas
