tawasal
It's at 76% right now. Slowly crawling to 80% before OW is over.
AniNate
Brad Brevet's review was pretty scathing. It'll knock the average rating down a bit whenever it's posted.
Kvikk Lunsj
If this goes up to 80% I will be happy.

AniNate
Arrietty isn't eligible. I could see The Pirates having a shot now with these less-than-stellar reviews for Brave.
Jack Nevada
Spirited Away was released in Japan in 2001, and in american in 2002. It was nominated in the 2003 Academy Awards. Same thing with Howls Moving Castle.
AniNate
Arrietty was released in 2010 in Japan so won't be eligible for the 2013 Awards. GKIDS is submitting From Up on Poppy Hill so Ghibli will still have a presence on the ballot. Edited June 20, 2012 by tribefan695
fishstick
It can go up a smuch as it wants, all reviews say it isn`t up to the snuff. Watchable but whatever.

AniNate
It can go up a smuch as it wants, all reviews say it isn`t up to the snuff. Watchable but whatever. Maybe it isn't, but I'm sure it'll still have its legion of supporters that defend it as an underrated masterpiece. Plenty of Disney films have gotten a similar critical reception and still have their fans.
DAR
But that's exactly the problem with Pixar right now. They're churning out all these sequels and leaving their storytelling ambition behind. This movie, if nothing else, at least represented something to that effect even if they didn't execute it as well as they could've. It's the difference between answering to shareholders and just making the best movie possible.

Pixar loonies need to take Michael bay`s turtle advice and chill.
AniNate
Wait, you're defending the movie now? I really don't get you, fishnets.
Jack Nevada
Too bad Arrietty wont get nominated, its much better than Ponyo or Howls Moving Castle (especially the latter, a movie I dont like at all)

tawasal
As long as Pixar don't diminish what they are known for, they can make as many sequels as they want and I am talkin' about their quality in storytelling. Dreamworks is not consistent with hits, they have alot of misses and then hits. And Brave will sure go as a hit regarding storytelling and the boxoffice might underwhelm because of the bit mixed reviews.

AniNate
I think it'll finish around 200-210mil. Basically Cars 2 with better legs.

And that's not bad considering it's fresh idea that's needs to be sold to new and established audiences.
