That basically shows, the difference between Pixar and other animated movies is that the expectation is so hight, that the line between positive and negative is close.

Madagascar 3 was really good. Animation is complex. There's no one way to be great.

I still think we're now seeing the results of Pixar becoming part of a larger company with Disney, and the brain trust branching off into other duties. I'm sure they gave their input on the film but I don't think it was as extensive as the previous films.

Critics are being unfairly harsh on this film because of the studio releasing it. Has that ever happened before? Ever??? Shows the league Pixar is in..

I think it might be a case from the critics point of view, that most of the films the big studios put out range from mediocore to bad to downright awful, and Pixar was always that beacon of light and some not all are disappointed with the last two efforts.
